Restraining myself from making a cynical remark against him, who could he possibly be scouting? Which players across both squads are good enough AND within our price range?

He’s not scouting, that’s what he does at his home desk...
- Rangnick or ten Hag in!
- Bring a DM, a winger (Sané) and Havertz!
- Get a REAL sports director (Rangnick?)!
- Keep Hoeness and Rummenigge far away from the team!

He has just signed that guy sitting beside him

Jokes aside, I hope he is scouting

1) De Ligt
2) Ten Hag
3) Gravenberch

Onana, David Neres, Mazroui, De Light, too many interesting players in Ajax’s team, and ofc their coach who puts the cherry on the cake.

Yeah, it's a good question, TBH. And I think a lot of the players who check those boxes - good enough and affordable enough - might simply not make much sense for us or just aren't a position of need.
For example, I like Mazraoui. But unless Kimmich moves to midfield full-time (and with a bunch of midfielders already, Javi reportedly staying next year, AND us rumored to be looking to buy a player for the 6, I don't see that), just wouldn't make much sense IMO.
Or then someone like Onana. Quite keen on him too, but I think the club is going to go with Neuer until his legs fall off, so I can't see that happening, and it would be silly for him to make that move unless he saw a clear path to our starting XI soon.
Neres, maybe?
de Ligt seems the obvious (player) answer, but I'd be shocked to see Hernandez, Pavard, AND de Ligt - that'd probably be close to 200m on three defenders alone. Seems unlikely to me.
Doubt it's anyone from Madrid; think the ones that are affordable aren't good enough and the ones that are good enough aren't affordable.

Hopefully it's Ten Hag, tbh

I hate to be cynical for no reason but probably scouting Ziyech because James is out next season...

As part of the upcoming reconstruction of the club's leadership, in addition to Oliver Kahn, sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić will also move up to the boardroom [Kicker]

I don't know why he gets criticized for his playing career as well... I really liked him back then!
