In the search for Heynckes' successor, Brazzo had tried at an early stage to convince Uli Hoeneß to negotiate with new coaches. Hoeneß had long insisted on persuading Heynckes to stay another year as a coach, Hasan Salihamidzic: I told Uli that he was wrong.

Hasan Salihamidzic has spoken out against €100m signings: I'm against doing such crazy things, I do not think we have to push into this dimension. We should know in advance what we are doing. We have to be faster.
Although the competition in Europe is investing more heavily, Brazzo keeps Bayern competitive even with a more defensive transfer policy: Why not? It could be natural that a player leaves us for a lot of money and then we have to reinvest with a lot of money in the team. That would be an exception. We will not abandon the basic Bayern line.If Real Madrid buy Neymar, we have to be different. We have to plan more long-term than some of these clubs, which can sometimes be influenced by a World Cup or European Championship at short notice and then it'll be expensive to buy a player.

I am not against HS. He is right.... but only but if we identify a game changer whom we really need, I would expect us to splach the cash....

Kalle a few days ago said we could spend 80 or 90m on a player, there’s no limit yada yada. Now Hasan says the opposite. Is it just me or are we really **** lost?

is anything he's saying wrong? we criticize other big money teams for doing exactly that... spending big on the flavor of the month players. Bayern should be planning long-term and as a result spending less.

Because we need to buy one superstar, and even if such a future superstar is identified at age 18, he would still likely cost more money than we have spent so far.

Seems that Salihadmidzic wants to figure in the team as the smart manager who can make bayern lift a UCL trophy again without expending in high prize players.

thats all ego because spending 80 millions in a player means to Hasan why are you here?...

Well hasan, if Rummennige wants to buy a high expensive player then not interrupt!

How I understand the quote is that Bayern should be buying those players - young, very promising, but not the Mbappe-to-PSG type (that was the exception, not the rule). Bayern already has made this type of transfer, notably the Renato Sanches transfer - has yet to work out. If we are looking at our egos, yes we want Bayern to splash the cash to show we can play with the big boys. If we're thinking logically, Bayern need to be smart about how they spend money to stay competitive in the coming years.

Well, these 'exceptions' are the superstars. It's very difficult if not impossible to get the next (especially attacking) superstar without spending shitloads of money. Why would the holding club sell a player for €40m knowing they can get €250m for him in 1-2 years time?
