I stopped watching after 3.30mins...
Couldn't bear the pain of not seeing him with us any more...

What an elegant and classy player...

But some preferred Alonso to him...

He wanted to leave. Alonso had nothing to do with his decision

Plus you can clearly see he lacks pace and rhythm to play in a top league... but his class is 4 or 5 levels above the average MLS player.

Schweini had already declined pretty badly by the time he left. Tbh, even Alonso was better.

Schweini is my favorite Bayern player of all time....but let's be mature here. What in the world does Alonso have to do anything? When Xabi joined the team, Basti was already missing half the season due to injury. When healthy, Alonso averaged 80 minutes per game and Basti averaged 70 minutes per game. Alonso made the majority of his appearances at defensive mid, while Basti made most of his at central midfielder. To act as though they were in direct competition or that "some preferred Alonso" (which I assume is a not-so-subtle nod to the myth that Pep 'forced out' Schweini) is either just being ignorant or willfully perpetuating a false narrative.

I know that he wished to leave at some point. I had read that he wanted a move in England at some point in his career.
But imo not a lot of effort from our board was done to persuade him to stay...from going to that shit hole...
If he had gone to the US immediately I would have been at least at peace...

He had said in the past something along the lines of dreaming of playing in Premier League and Manchester United. He won everything for us, he became a legend here and then he realised he was declining and wanted to achieve one of his dreams. Board was happy to respect his decision and we cashed in some good money in the process

Not that I like that he's played for ManU, but it was his wish. He wasn't forced to do it.

I really hope that his Bayern farewell will be a great party much better of his National which was very emotional but when he comes to Allianz for his officiall goodbye we should make an earthquake at least, he literally pushed it to the limit for Bayern!

If Mourinho becomes Bayern's coach in the summer he will bench Bastian on his farewell game.

It’s a huge honor to be awarded with a testimonial game from FC Bayern München after 17 amazing years with the club. Thank you to both FC Bayern München and Chicago Fire for making this match possible and to all of the fans that have been with me since I started my career. I look forward to getting to play at the Allianz Arena again August 28, 2018. #BS31 #SchweinsteigerFCBTestimonial FC Bayern München Chicago Fire

No way Mourinho will become Bayern's coach at least until Uli&Kalle will be here. Fell better now?
