Glad he's finally leaving that scum club. It felt wrong seeing one of my favourite players playing for a club I hate.

Glad to see him leave Manchester United. The way he was treated there was shameful! Hopefully he comes back to Bayern in some form or another.

But I'm excited as an American to see him come to the States! Hope he can help the sport grow here. Chicago better treat a proper legend right!

I'm in Indiana about 3 hours from Chicago, I fully intend to see him as soon as possible. Hopefully, around August I'll have the time/money

Hopefully after a year or two year stint in Chicago he returns to Munich and joins the club again in some sort of (non playing) capacity.

I know he's been linked with them for a while, but I'm surprised he chose Chicago. No offense, but if money's not an object, I would think most people would choose NY, LA, or even Florida or Texas for the weather. Chicago is a great city, but if I was him, that's not where I'd chose to live.

Never been to Chicago, but people I know that have been there compare to newer NYC, so it must be pretty amazing.

Btw, Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza = my true faith.

I might not be the best one to ask because I don't care much for cities but Chicago doesn't compare to NYC in my opinion. I do know a lot of people love the city too though

I always hear about the crime and corruption in Chicago. That and to avoid O'Hare. But I'd still love to visit.

@Ramsej I don't live anywhere close. :(

Chicago is a fantastic city...as long as you are in the 'right' neighborhoods. It's true that crime and corruption is rampant but for the casual visitor like myself corruption isn't an issue (I don't live there and don't have any dealings with the law, knock on wood) and nearly all of the crime occurs in the suburbs or away from the main 'tourist' areas. The downtown area/Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park, all the areas around the stadiums feel perfectly safe to me every time I visit.

Like I said I don't live there but I have family and friends who do and I'm only about 3-4 hours away by train. I try and visit fairly often. I think it's a very cool place and by and large if you don't go looking for trouble you won't run into any.
