Arjen Robben: "When time passes quickly, it's always a good sign. It means you feel comfortable and are having fun. It's going to be a very special game Saturday"

Robben on his future: "My focus is fully on Saturday. Of course I'm talking about the future with my wife and my family. But I still have not made a decision"

Robben: "I did not expect to have such a long career here. At the time, Bayern were not that strong in Europe. But in the first year, we surprisingly got to the final, and the club made excellent progress over the years. I'm proud to have been part of it"

Robben on his missed penalty in 2012 and scoring the winner in 2013: "Everyone knows this story. It's the beauty of the sport. After a big disappointment, life goes on and after every success, you want more. That's what you live for as a professional"

Robben: "The appreciation from fans is the best thing you could get. That's the most beautiful thing, it's almost more than winning titles. After 10 years here, I'm definitely taking that with me"

Robben on whether he'd celebrate if he scores against Bayern in the future: "If I joined a team that has to play against Bayern, I have no problem. I think it's nonsense not to celebrate. You give everything for your current team, otherwise you just tell the coach not to play you."

Robben on Ribéry: "We have a great friendship. It just clicked from day one. I had so much fun with him on the pitch. He assisted me and I scored. The other way round too, but not as many"

Best wishes to Robben. Some players go though the game without making me feel one way or the other... not this guy. I was either hiding my face watching his worst dive, or more often cheering him produce something spectacular.

Would love to see him remain connected to Bayern.

Man, that goal was a joy explosion.

We had been 3-0 down within a matter of minutes and it looked like we were gonna be humiliated that night. By that time we weren't amongst Europe's best and nobody was expecting us to achieve anything in Europe.

But then out of nowhere Olic scores, we start controlling the game and chances keep on coming. And then THAT happens

The treble winning season was enjoyable because we were so damn good and destroyed every team but sometimes those hard fought victories when you are such a big underdog are the ones you enjoy the most.

I would have loved us to lift that 09/10 CL trophy in Bernabeu. That was a very emotional season.

Thank you Robben for the many years of joy.

He may have been coming in after a long injury layoff, may have been out of form, may have been coming into a hopeless situation, but in the 25 odd years I've been following Bayern, he was the only attacking player that gave you the feeling that he could make something out of nothing.

The best attacking individual talent I have seen in a Bayern shirt and I would think he would be at least in an all time top-3 for Bayern.

Goodbye Robben. Hope your path leads you back to Bayern at some point.

Ironically you are talking shit about Schweinsteiger himself since he plays mainly as a CB now, so if Robben comes to MLS, Bastian will be one of those defenders.
Personally, I would love to see Robben reuniting with Bastian in the Chicago Fire this summer. I will get front row tickets.

The level of play in MLS is certainly not high but it is not necessarily as brutal as you make it sound, and Robben gets injured even while sleeping. BTW, in the incident that you refer to (MLS All Stars vs Bayern) the player that went rough on Bastian was Ozzie Alonso, a midfielder.

Very well. Correction: I can see MLS “players” not knowing what they are doing.

Obviously when I say “can see”, that means every MLS player is shit and has always been shit including Schweini and (if he joins) Robben. I was not referencing the type of player Arjen would most likely come up against as a winger, assuming of course he isn’t converted to central defense.

In case you didn’t get that, that was sarcasm.

Arjen Robben

I’m being an ass but honestly all you had to say was lead with your “the level of play in MLS is not that bad” statement. Instead of making some weird defense of MLS defenders by insinuating I’m trashing Bastian and then throwing MLS midfielders under the bus. I was clearly making a broad statement out of all MLS defenders there’s a fraction that are more likely to injure Robben, who is indeed made of glass... that’s why he’s going to get hurt.
