Rummenigge on potential closed-door matches from 9 May

Postby FCBayernNews » Mon Apr 20, 2020 7:00 pm

As Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder, Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia Armin Laschet and DFL CEO Christian Seifert announced on Monday, it is conceivable that play could resume in the Bundesliga in the near future. "Perhaps from 9 May", "a round of so-called ghost matches" could be played without spectators, said Söder: "A weekend with football is much more bearable than a weekend without football." The politician also stressed that the Robert Koch Institute still had to give the green light.

FC Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: "The statements from the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder and the Prime Minister of North-Rhine Westphalia, Armin Laschet, are a very positive signal for the resumption of Bundesliga matches. It is important that we treat the politicians‘ legal and medical guidelines in an exemplary and very serious manner in order to minimise the health risk. I would like to thank the management of the DFL, headed by Christian Seifert, for an excellent concept that takes full account of organisational and medical aspects. This concept is the basis for the positive and trustworthy assessment of the policy.“

On Monday FC Bayern and Alphonso Davies agreed an early contract extension until 2025. Here are all the details:
