Arjen Robben has not given up on a comeback this season. “I'm not as far as I'd like, or as I should be. But I'll keep it up and fight for a comeback, looking to play a role before the season is over,” the Dutchman said before the match against Gladbach on the FC Bayern Matchday Show. Robben, who made his last appearance against Dortmund two months ago, has been sidelined with a stubborn hamstring injury. The winger admitted: “Being an onlooker is the worst thing for a footballer.”

Milestones for Müller, Neuer and Rode

Three FCB pros had a reason to celebrate in the home match against Borussia Mönchengladbach: Thomas Müller made his 350th appearance in a competitive fixture for the German record champions, at only 26 years of age. Keeper Manuel Neuer made his 250th appearance, Sebastian Rode was in action for the Bavarians for the 50th time.

Costa in preliminary Seleçao squad

The Brazilian FA has announced that Bayern star Douglas Costa has been called up to a 40-strong preliminary Brazil squad. Seleçao coach Carlos Dunga will reduce the squad to 23 players for the Copa America from 3 to 26 June. The tournament will be staged in the US on the occasion of the centenary of the South American Football Confederation Conmebol. Brazil take on Ecuador, Haiti and Peru in the group stage.
