Following a comfortable 3-0 victory over Hannover 96, Bayern boss Ottmar Hitzfeld specifically praised Martin Demichelis, Lucio, Christian Lell, Philipp Lahm and Zé Roberto for creating the well-organised defensive platform from which his men launched a series of dangerous attacking raids. Hitzfeld also singled out Franck Ribéry and Sandro Wagner for special praise.

Reaction to Bayern v Hannover:

Ottmar Hitzfeld: "It was hard work in the first half. We applied a huge amount of pressure up front, but we were still well organised at the back. Demichelis and Lucio were totally focused, and Lell, Lahm and Zé Roberto all played extremely well too. Our good organisation gave us a solid platform for our attacking game. Luca Toni's opening goal came from an outstanding move. We were firmly in control in the second half, we let the ball do the work and used our extra man to maximum effect, that was enjoyable to watch. Ribéry covered an extraordinary amount of ground again. I was also very pleased with Sandro Wagner, he was mobile and went looking for the ball. Toni's departure didn't knock us out of our stride at all. It's fantastic when you can throw a reserve in at the deep end like that.“

Philipp Lahm: "We're scoring goals, and we're keeping it tight at the back. Complacency is the only thing we have to fear at the moment. It didn't work out for us last season, so we're even hungrier for goals this term. Obviously it was a little easier against ten men.“

Dieter Hecking (Hannover coach): "Bayern were clearly dominant today. We didn't put up a lot of resistance after the sending-off. The only positive was that we didn't concede more than three goals. I was angry about the first half. It was our throw-in but we ran headlong into a counter-attack, you can't do that against Bayern. Then we went and shot ourselves in the foot, that shouldn't be happening to an experienced player like Altin Lala. We came here looking for a result, but Bayern were by far the better team. We need to put it behind us and move on.“
