The countdown has started. FC Bayern face Atlético Madrid in the Champions League semi-final return at 20.45 CET on Tuesday evening needing to overcome a 1-0 defeat from the first leg if they are to reach the final. “With 70,000 fans behind us we’ll give it everything we’ve got and make a big fight of it,” announced Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Naturally, the build-up to the contest reaches fever pitch on the day before the big game. fcbayern.de brings you regular news updates as Monday unfolds.

*** 12:00: Will Ribéry be fit in time? *** He could be the man to make the difference tomorrow, but Franck Ribéry is still rated doubtful at this stage. The winger missed Saturday’s game against Gladbach with back pain but was able to go jogging yesterday, with a couple of intervals sprints. “I’m feeling better,” Ribéry told kicker magazine. Will the Frenchman play a part in today’s squad training session? We’ll find out at around 3 pm!

*** 11:30: Philipp Lahm’s views on the Atlético return? ***
The captain spoke to FCB.tv News on Sunday. “With the support of our fans we want to turn it around and reach the final,” Lahm said.

*** 11:00: Fortress Allianz Arena! ***
We’ve been delving into the pre-match facts and stats as always, and one in particular is a cause of real hope for FCB fans: The Reds have won their last 11 Champions League home games, scoring 41 goals and conceding only six! The record for consecutive home wins is held by Manchester United with 12 straight victories at Old Trafford between 2006 and 2008. Our factfile with many more stats and figures is coming up later in the day.

*** 10:00: Packed programme ***
The schedule for the afternoon is a busy one: The Atlético Madrid party is due in Munich at around 13.00 – they’ll transfer from the airport and check in at their hotel. Bayern’s final pre-match workout takes place at the Säbener Strasse at 15.00. The Allianz Arena then moves to centre stage when it hosts Atletico’s press conference and training session (from 17.45), with the FC Bayern press conference featuring Pep Guardiola, Manuel Neuer and Javi Martínez at 19.00

*** 09:45: First arrival Arjen *** It was a quiet start to the day at the Säbener Strasse as the players are not due in until 15.00 CET. However, Arjen Robben was an early arrival and reported to the performance centre to keep working towards a comeback.
