Lewandowski sets Bundesliga record

Postby FCBayernNews » Sat Sep 28, 2019 5:35 pm

No player in the Bundesliga's 57-year history has been as prolific as Robert Lewandowski this season. The Poland captain scored Bayern's third goal in the 3-2 victory away to Paderborn, bagging his tenth goal in the nascent campaign. "An extreme rate. Ten goals are quite impressive," Joshua Kimmich commented after the match. Lewandowski set a new record at this point of the season, surpassing Jupp Heynckes, Gerd Müller, Peter Meyer and Lothar Emmerich, who managed nine goals after six matches.

Lewandowski not to be stopped

The goal-getter is not to be stopped. Lewandowski scored in his eighth competitive match in a row when he netted against Paderborn, a first in German pro football. The 31-year-old has scored on all Bundesliga matchdays so far this campaign, a record only matched by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 2015/16 season.
