Holders entertain Red Devils in second round

Bayern have been handed an eminently manageable DFB German Cup second round tie at home to relegated 1. FC Kaiserslautern following Saturday evening's draw, performed live on prime time TV by Germany women's international stalwart Kerstin Stegemann.

The teams last met in the competition some three years ago on 31 May 2003 in Berlin, when a Michael Ballack brace and a Claudio Pizarro strike sealed the trophy for the Reds with a 3-1 triumph in the final. Felix Magath and his men also cherish fond memories of the most recent Bundesliga fixture between the clubs, when a 1-1 draw at the Betzenberg stadium back on 6 May this year was enough for Bayern to claim the league title.

The second round ties will be played on 24 and 25 October.

Hopefully. We thought the same thing with St. Pauli and they made us work hard for those goals. Happy 100th post anniversary! :P
