Herbert Hainer is a busy man these days. At the start of this week, he was overseeing business for Bayern at Säbener Straße in Munich before visiting his daughter in Austria. And now he’s on his way to Berlin for the DFB Cup final. But there’s no sign of stress from him. “You see a happy president before you,” he said. “Even after six months in office, as a football-mad person like me who’s always loved Bayern, it’s still an incredibly great feeling to serve as president of this club.” And Hainer has another special reason to be happy today as he celebrates his 66th birthday.

“I’d like to warmly congratulate him personally and on behalf of FC Bayern,” said CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “We wish Herbert Hainer health and happiness. I’d also like to explicitly thank him today for our very good, loyal and harmonious work together. We’re happy to have him with us.”

Predecessor Uli Hoeneß also passed on his congratulations. “I wish Herbert all the best from the bottom of my heart,” the honorary president said. “Especially in this unique period with the coronavirus, FC Bayern is presenting itself in a highly respectable way. And hats off for winning the title in his first season. Keep it up!”
