Guardiola: We'll correct our minor errors

Postby FCBayernNews » Sat Jul 27, 2013 11:10 pm

Saturday evening's DFL Supercup clash whetted the appetite for the new campaign, despite Bayern's unlucky defeat. "Overall, I'm satisfied with our performance and our attitude, but we were up against a good team," Pep Guardiola reflected after the 4-2 defeat to home team Borussia Dortmund. "It's still pre-season," said Philipp Lahm, "we'll analyse the game and then move on."

Reaction to the 2013 DFL Supercup

Pep Guardiola: "We've lost 4-2, but I didn't have the feeling Dortmund were much better than us. Overall, I'm satisfied with our performance and our attitude, but we were up against a good team. We still have ten days to get ready for the Bundesliga restart. We'll correct our minor errors."

Philipp Lahm: "Obviously, we wanted to win today and take home the cup. We had the chances to do so, but it's still pre-season. We didn't score the goals at the right time today, and we conceded goals at the worst moments in time. We'll analyse the game and then move on."

Arjen Robben: "We fought back well and equalised, but suddenly it was 3-1 in the space of three or four minutes. We fought our way back again, but after they made it 4-2 it was over."

Jürgen Klopp: "It was a terrific match. Both teams went for it like there's no tomorrow. Bayern are the best team in the league and they're not our rivals. The other 16 teams are our rivals."

Roman Weidenfeller: "It was a fantastic evening. We threw everything we had into the match and we were rewarded for it."

And we used to say it's Bayern that lacks a winning mentality. :P

I'm getting fed up with the myth that Dortmund are some sort of underdog.

I know you lost and you feel sad. No need to take it out on Klopp though, look at Guardiola's statement. Apparently he was satisfied with the performance, how is that for winning mentality.

Klopp will always act like an underdog, him and his team stopped being that for a while now. But I guess he's used to it.

Modern day Robinhood is what he calls himself.
I admire him as a coach. But in near future this kind of self-deprecation will cost Dortmund. :|
