Guardiola: It’s three more points to us

Postby FCBayernNews » Sat Nov 22, 2014 7:50 pm

FC Bayern extended their impressive run on Saturday with a comfortable 4-0 victory over fifth-placed Hoffenheim, meaning the champions have won all seven of their home matches this term, scoring 24 goals and conceding only two. “I’m very pleased after the international break. It’s three more points to us,” Pep Guardiola said afterwards.

Reaction to Bayern v Hoffenheim

Pep Guardiola: ”We had problems with our build-up play in the first 15 minutes and we carelessly gave the ball away too often. But then we switched things around. I think 4-0 is too big a win. The result doesn’t reflect what happened on the pitch. But I’m very pleased after the international break. It’s three more points to us.”

Arjen Robben:
”We didn’t start the second half well. We forgot to play football and Hoffenheim applied even more attacking pressure. That’s when you have to retain possession, but we didn’t do it particularly well.”

Mario Götze: ”I’m feeling good, I’m in good shape, I’m fit and I’m up for playing football. That’s the decisive thing. The rest follows automatically. I’m delighted we’ve taken the points today and that we’re still up there at the top. That’s the priority, and hopefully we can keep it up.”

Markus Gisdol (Hoffenheim coach): ”If you want to come away with anything from Munich, it all has to come together. And it didn’t all come together for us today. We didn’t strike at the decisive moments. The score of 4-0 sounds hard, but we started a good attempt to hurt Bayern and we caused them a few problems within the scope of our resources.”

Andreas Beck (Hoffenheim captain): ”After you’ve lost 4-0, it sounds a bit odd when you talk about us having a good game. But it still felt OK out there on the pitch. We often got our tackles in, apart from the last 15 minutes of the first half when we weren’t as aggressive.”
