Focus turns towards Hoffenheim

Postby FCBayernNews » Wed Jan 24, 2018 3:20 pm

Two days ago Munich was gripped by snow, but there was a hint of spring at Säbener Straße on Wednesday. And it wasn’t just the temperatures that were well above freezing as Bayern worked up a sweat in training. After a day off, Jupp Heynckes and his side began preparations for this Saturday’s Bundesliga game at home to Hoffenheim (15:30 CET) – and they have “a score to settle”, as Karl-Heinz Rummenigge declared.

In his programme notes, the Bayern CEO recalled the 2-0 and 1-0 defeats in their last two meetings with Julian Nagelsmann’s side. “Hoffenheim have done very well against us recently, but I think it’s time to put things right and show who are German champions,” writes Rummenigge.

Vidal: “It’ll be a difficult game”

Heynckes is at full strength for the match against Hoffenheim, who have never won in Munich. Other than Manuel Neuer and Thiago, who continued their recovery programmes on the adjacent pitch, everybody is available.

“It’ll be a difficult game,” commented Arturo Vidal, who hasn’t forgotten the recent battles with Hoffenheim. “Hopefully we can put in a good performance, get another three points in the bag and move another step closer to our goals.”

Can it stay like this at Säbener Street all winter please ️ #MiaSanMia pic.twitter.com/v50vVCwoCv
