#FCBHSV – Clash of polar opposites

Postby FCBayernNews » Sat Mar 10, 2018 10:05 am

Almost exactly twelve years ago, on 4 March 2006, FC Bayern suffered their first defeat at the Allianz Arena, a 2-1 loss to Hamburg. It was one of only five away wins for the northerners against the record champions in more than 50 years of the Bundesliga. Just ahead of the 106th North-South classic, fcbayern.com has rummaged around in the stats pack and dug out five top facts:

#1 45 goals in 8 games

FC Bayern have won their last eight home games against HSV, scoring 45 goals (5.6 per match) and conceding just three.

#2 18 games undefeated

FC Bayern haven’t lost to Hamburg in 18 games (15 wins, three draws). The last defeat was eight and a half years ago (a 1-0 reverse in September 2009). The complete stats for the Bundesliga from the Reds’ point of view: 64 wins, 22 draws, 19 defeats. FC Bayern have scored more goals against HSV than against any other Bundesliga club – both overall (241) as well as in front of their home fans (156).

#3 59-18 goal difference

On Saturday, the current best attack in the Bundesliga (59 goals) comes up against the worst (18 goals). Robert Lewandowski has scored more goals in 23 appearances (20) than the whole HSV team in 25 matchdays.

#4 11 wins from 12 games

FC Bayern have won 11 of their last 12 Bundesliga fixtures (with one draw) and collected nearly seven times more points than HSV (34 to 5). HSV haven’t won any of their last 12 Bundesliga outings (five draws, seven defeats). 18 points from 25 matchdays is the worst Bundesliga performance in HSV’s history.

#5 Dingert in charge

Christian Dingert from Lebecksmühle takes charge of Saturday’s match. He’s already refereed 14 Bayern games. FCB’s record in those matches is nine wins, four draws and one defeat. Tobias Christ and Timo Gerach are his assistants and the fourth official is Arno Blos. The video assistant is Sascha Stegmann.
