FCB strong after international breaks

Postby FCBayernNews » Fri Apr 01, 2016 1:40 pm

On Saturday FC Bayern and Eintracht Frankfurt cross swords for the 90th time in the Bundesliga, and the Bavarians are buoyed by a strong record of 13 consecutive wins after international breaks, scoring 45 goals and conceding six. The last defeat dates back to the 2011/12 season, a 1-0 reverse against Borussia Dortmund on Matchday 13.

Eintracht's bogey team

The numbers tell the story: the German record champions have won 47 out of 89 Bundesliga encounters with Frankfurt, losing 21, with 21 games ending in a draw. Bayern have scored 174 and conceded 110 goals: Frankfurt travel to face their bogey team.

Strong home record against Frankfurt

Eintracht's yield in Munich has been miserable in the last few years. The Reds have won nine of the last ten home matches against Frankfurt, being held to a goalless draw only once, back in November 2007. In total the men from Hesse have only won three of their 44 matches away to FCB.

Home strength v away blues

The best home side and the weakest away team in the Bundesliga face off on Saturday. FCB have won 17 of 18 competitive fixtures on their home field, taking 36 points in 13 Bundesliga matches. The visitors have lost five of the last six away matches, taking only nine points on the road so far this season, the lowest yield of all Bundesliga teams.

Meyer in charge

Florian Meyer will referee the Bundesliga meeting between FC Bayern and Eintracht Frankfurt. The 47-year-old from Burgdorf takes charge of a match involving the Reds for the fourth time this season: he whistled the 4-0 win against Köln, the 3-0 success against Leverkusen and, most recently, the 3-1 victory away to Augsburg in February. His assistants will be Frank Willenborg and Christoph Bornhorst, with Thorsten Schiffner acting as fourth official.
