FCB’s dress rehearsal in Karlsruhe

Postby FCBayernNews » Fri Jan 15, 2016 5:45 pm

Hard work was taking place at the Säbener Strasse facility when Philipp Lahm, Thomas Müller & Co arrived at their usual stomping ground on Friday morning. Industrious helpers were clearing the turf with heavy tools and large shovels: snow had covered the FC Bayern training ground the night before.

The squad subsequently worked out under Pep Guardiola's auspices for one and a half hours, despite the prospect of Saturday's friendly against second division Karlsuher SC (live from 15.30 CET on SAT.1), the only match in the winter preparation period. After a thorough warm-up session the Reds were put through sprinting and coordination drills, but completed exercises with the ball as well.

250 kilometres from Munich the anticipation could not be higher. “It's an important match for us, and it's great that we can cross swords with FC Bayern in front of a capacity crowd,” commented Karlsruhe head coach Markus Kauczinski. KSC pro Enrico Valentini added: “The cream of football will play at the Wildpark stadium. Our motto: enjoy it and give your best against these top stars.”

Advice for fans attending the match

The hosts advise all fans to travel early to the venerable Wildpark Stadion. The additional security measures known from league matches also apply to the friendly against FC Bayern, according to Karlsruher SC. Large bags and backpacks are prohibited on the stadium site.

Fans who cannot be at the ground for FCB's dress rehearsal before the Bundesliga restart can watch the encounter from the comfort of their living rooms: broadcaster SAT.1 will show the friendly against Karlsruher SC live from 15.00 CET. After the match you can watch the highlights on FCB.tv as usual.
