FC Bayern open Football School in Taiyuan

Postby FCBayernNews » Thu Sep 06, 2018 2:05 pm

FC Bayern today joined political representatives from the Chinese province of Shanxi at the Allianz Arena to announce the opening of the FC Bayern Football School Taiyuan.

The partnership with Shanxi province in northern China and the agency China Sports Futurity covers an ongoing exchange of experiences, regular and intense visits by FC Bayern youth coaches, and the assistance and training of Chinese coaches and young players in Munich. Further activities by the German record champions are planned in the province of Shanxi.

FC Bayern München AG executive board member for internationalisation and strategy Jörg Wacker commented in front of the high-ranking delegation from Shanxi: "We have a long-term and sustainable strategy in China in which the development of young talent plays a central role. With the new FC Bayern Football School Taiyuan we are opening another point of contact and extending our activities in the Chinese market. That means not just our training and youth philosophy but also the brand and values of FC Bayern will be transferred to Shanxi.”

“We are proud and looking forward to opening a third Football School in China in Taiyuan in addition to the existing FC Bayern Football Schools in Qingdao and Shenzhen,” said Rouven Kasper, managing director of FC Bayern in China before adding: “Chinese football has enormous potential, and we want to play our part in supporting and promoting development by means of our knowledge and our experience in the youth sector. We share that ambition with the province of Shanxi and we have found the right partner for a special football project.”

Mr Luo Huining, party secretary in the province of Shanxi, also spoke at the press conference: “There has long been strategic cooperation between China and Germany. The two governments signed the contract on football cooperation in 2016. The FC Bayern Football School in Shanxi is a concrete example in that regard. We are confident FC Bayern, as one of the best football clubs in the world, can help to develop football in Shanxi with their expertise and youth policy.”

Shanxi province is in the north of China, south-west of the capital Beijing. The province has very large coal reserves and is also one of the cradles of Chinese culture. Taiyuan is the capital of Shanxi with a history dating back 2,500 years. Today, Taiyuan is an important industrial base in northern China with a population of 4.4 million and is also one of the most important trade centres for a wide range of goods.
