Bayern's schedule during the winter break

Postby FCBayernNews » Wed Dec 14, 2011 7:20 pm

Once Bayern have completed the first half of the season with the home Bundesliga clash against FC Köln and the DFB Cup trip to VfL Bochum, the club closes down for a brief mid-season break. Philipp Lahm & Co are officially released for the holiday season on 22 December, and have 11 days to relax and spend time with their families.

The players report back on 2 January for the flight to the annual winter training camp, to be held like last year in Qatar. During the stay in the Emirate on the Persian Gulf, Jupp Heynckes and his players will aim to lay the foundations for a successful second half of the campaign and the pursuit of silverware.

The European season ends earlier than usual in 2011-12 to allow extra time ahead of EURO 2012, so there are just two warm-up matches currently on the winter schedule, against the Indian national team in New Delhi on 10 January, and away to third-tier Rot-Weiß Erfurt five days later. The competitive fixtures resume on 20 January with the league trip to Borussia Mönchengladbach.
