Bayern pay tribute to Sepp Maier

Postby FCBayernNews » Sat Mar 09, 2019 6:10 pm

Sepp Maier, who had turned 75 on 28 February, received warm applause from the 75,000 full house at the Allianz Arena before the home match against VfL Wolfsburg. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and president Uli Hoeneß presented the Bayern legend with a bouquet of flowers and a photo from his last match for FC Bayern in 1979.

Serge Gnabry is Bayern's man for landmark goals. His opener in Saturday's match against Wolfsburg was the German record champions' 900th competitive goals at the Allianz Arena. The 23-year-old had scored Bayern's 4,000th Bundesliga goal in the 5-1 victory away to Mönchengladbach last weekend.
