All FCB pros involved in EURO 2020

Postby FCBayernNews » Wed Nov 20, 2019 2:30 pm

FC Bayern fans have reason to look forward to next year's EURO! Qualifying is all but over, with four spots still up for grabs in the play-offs in March. Besides Manuel Neuer, Serge Gnabry, Niklas Süle, Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich, all other European internationals of FC Bayern have qualified for the finals, playing crucial roles in their teams' successes.

Germany sealed the group win on Tuesday evening thanks to a Gnabry hat-trick and a Goretzka brace. Germany will contest three group stage matches at Munich's Allianz Arena. Neuer & Co. will start the tournament at a more than familiar venue. "It's a great story. It almost feels like a World Cup at home," commented Goretzka.

Serge Gnabry celebrating a goal against Northern Ireland. He has scored eight goals in the qualifying campaign, now boasting 13 goals in 13 appearances for Germany. Only Gerd Müller achieved a similar number.

But not only Germany had to thank their Bayern pros. Robert Lewandowski fired Poland to victory in Group G, netting six times. Ivan Perišić scored three goals, Croatia's top scorer on their way to victory in Group E. Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernández, Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman were regulars for France, Didier Deschamps' men finishing top of Group H.

Spain celebrated a similar success, Thiago setting up four goals. David Alaba and his Austrian team-mates fell to Lewandowski's Poland but finished second in Group G, qualifying for the finals. Qualifying was a complete success from a Bayern point of view. All Bavarians will have their eyes on Bucharest for the EURO group draw on 30 November. One of the most exciting questions: will Bavarians face off in direct duels next summer?

A happy David Alaba after qualifying with Austria. The 27-year-old will contest his second EURO after 2016.
