2018 is drawing to a close, and it's been another exciting 12 months for FC Bayern. After an eventful first half of the year (part 1), the new season too was packed with action. fcbayern.com takes a light-hearted look back.

July

Bayern took up their preparations for the new season. After some demanding sessions in Munich the Bavarians travelled to the US for the Audi Summer Tour. The FCB pros turned in exhausting shifts but also had some leisure time. Besides a visit to the Rocky statue and the legendary steps in Philadelphia, there was a "reunion" with Miami Vice.

And then there was the probably most emotional moment of the year. Bastian Schweinsteiger said goodbye to the fans. The whole of Munich hailed him, and rightly so. Thank you, Basti! Servus, Fußballgott!

September also brought the first few setbacks, a 1-1 draw against Augsburg and a 2-0 reverse away to Berlin. But Corentin Tolisso's cruciate ligament rupture was much worse. The world champion has been working towards his comeback since then.

December

Bayern returned to winning ways in December, beating Bremen 2-1, downing Nürnberg 3-0, followed by a 4-0 thrashing of Hannover, a 1-0 victory against Leipzig and a 3-0 win away to Frankfurt. There was more good news as Kingsley Coman and Thiago made their comebacks away to Bremen.

The 3-3 draw away to Ajax thrilled the fans, with Bayern finishing first in their Champions League group. Besides, the Bavarians learned the identity of their next CL opponents. They will face Liverpool in the last sixteen. We're looking forward to 2019!
