yest I had a middle aged client and she was communicating in English with a heavy Italian accent and at one moment she couldn't find a word for a particular item , and I appreciating her effort invited her to use her language; Her response was , '' no I want to practice English as otherwise I won't improve) =D>
She also told me that comprehends some Maltese as well !

I don’t mind an Italian word here and there while they’re searching for the right word and am not that much of a snob to force them to think of it instead of me telling them I understood (or what the word is), but I don’t expect someone to come to me and just assume I am going to understand them and speak to them in Italian. A friend of mine even had someone tell him “in Italiano” once (having spoken in English, not Maltese).

Don't think it will happen, but I would be in favor. It's the only way to get a clean break from the chavista criminal socialism. Otherwise, we will have to accept a cohabitation government, and agree not to prosecute the drug dealers, human rights violators, etc.

UNITED NATIONS—On Monday, Greta Thunberg and 15 other young people filed a potentially world-changing lawsuit. On an abnormally steamy day in New York, when sweat built on the brows of the dark-suited diplomats funneling into the United Nations for a major climate summit, the group of teens cranked up the heat even further.

They announced that they’re suing five of the world’s major carbon polluters on the grounds that the countries are violating their rights as children. If the suit is successful, the United Nations would classify the climate crisis as a children’s rights crisis. And more importantly, it would compel Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, and Turkey—the five countries named in the suit—to work with other nations to forge binding emissions’ reduction targets, a sharp change from current international efforts that have so far basically rearranged the deck chairs on the Titanic. [source]

I wondered about that too. It’s a start though.

Came across this comment: “The reason they chose those 5 is because they agreed to allow themselves to be subject to hearing legal complaints made against them for not holding up their commitments. That’s why those kids chose to make the complaint. The major developed polluters (particularly the US and China), however, did not sign the agreement allowing themselves to be subject to hearing legal complaints made against them for not holding up their commitments. Therefore, it wouldn’t do any good to sue the US or China.”
