How ridiculous. This guy is quite the extremist.

Yeah. Even for a liberal I feel he just takes it to way too much of an extreme and I don’t like extremists of any kind.

Phony liberals are eating their own children. Trudeau was a great example of a liberal populist - he said everything they wanted to hear, and eventually he raised (or lowered) the standard so much that he was bound to be found unfit to fulfill it, sooner or later.

It’s kinda sad really. But on the other hand, he actively warped liberalism for his own goals. In a healthy political atmosphere nobody would bat at an eye at painting your face for artistic/dramatic purposes.

There should be absolutely nothing wrong with blackface in theatre just like it’s perfectly OK for an actress to play a male character and vice versa, or humans to play animals, monsters, fairies, dragons, and even furniture!

how are these things still in existence...?

Another example that certain cultures can't coexist... it is either one or the other.

This may soon be a scene in Paris , Stockholm or Birmingham

@ramsej: Cultures can and do coexist, as long as both follow the same laws. That is (or should be) the purpose of assimilation - not to change one’s culture, but to help them adapt to different societal norms.

I tend to agree,,, but from Malta's perspective (IMO) the only people who came here and assimilated 100% were the Indian community...
They opened up businesses, married Maltese, changed names, some even converted to Christianity etc...

Totally disagree that it’s only the Indians, unless you’re only considering non-Europeans. Many Europeans (especially Scandinavians, Brits, and Germans) are very well-assimilated here. Geographically they are further away from home than many Africans. The Jewish community, although small, is also well-assimilated, partly also because some are Maltese.

With African people it’s very hard to generalise. Some are well assimilated, others are almost prevented from assimilating. There are areas which have become pretty much Africanised and are full of shops from all parts of Africa, which I don’t mind as long as they obey the law and are respectful. Ultimately them opening African shops is no different than what the ever-growing Italian community is doing, but no one seems to have a problem with Italian restaurants and ice-cream shops.

Doing other jobs. As long as they offer good service doesn’t make a difference to me.

What does piss me off with that particular community is how many of them expect me to speak to them in Italian.
