Lyon - France

Yest evening... https://www.timesofmalta.com/mobile/art ... rts.710924

More than a dozen wounded in France bomb 'attack'

None of the injuries are life-threatening - prosecutors

I suspect that this time weren't the usual suspects....

Let us wait for what the Les Garcons Macron tell us...

The far right and the Eurosceptics together increased their total of seats by 33 over 2014. Hardly a shift to the right considering ALDE alone (more liberal than the two big parties, who both lost many votes) gained over 100 seats more than in 2014 and the Greens gained an extra 18 seats.

S&D and the EPP lost many seats but the left seems to have won many more of these than the right did.

In Malta the far right extremist is the third biggest party with 3.17% of the vote, but very far from being elected.
My candidate of choice only managed 1% but considering she is a first time politician, campaigned solely on Facebook, did not belong to either of the two parties with their money and media, is not Maltese, and our backwards mentality of refusing to elect anyone from a third party, I think she did very well. She got more first preferences than the vast majority of the candidates from the two big parties.

You are right, and I agree with what Manfred Weber (I pray God that he will be the new President but I have my doubts... and he is better suited to guide Germany but whatever)
Europeans are shifting away from the center (and this all their fault cause they have distanced themselves from the people) and are shifting to the extreme - left / right.

Don't really know what Weber (or Timmermans, for that matter) believes in to be honest. I voted according to the individual candidates more than the policies of the pan-European groups.

A look at voting results across EU member states shows that no other party across the 28 member states managed to get the 54.3 per cent Muscat's Labour Party achieved.

The closest was Viktor Orbán's Fidesz, which got just over 52 per cent, followed by Poland's Law and Justice party, which polled 43 per cent.

Aren’t YOU the one always complaining about your buddies being called extreme?

Also, while I wouldn’t vote them - for non-environmental reasons solely - the Greens are not half as extremist... At least at the core...

A knife-wielding man attacked a group of children waiting for the school bus, killing a 12-year-old schoolgirl and another man before stabbing himself to death in a rampage outside Tokyo Tuesday that also injured more than a dozen including several children. [source]

Japan has one of the biggest suicidal rates afaik.
But the least Criminal offences.

Take a look to France and Sweden for your answer my dear ..
