They might block Google apps from Huawei phones as well - most are irrelevant but Maps and YouTube are worth keeping in mind.

You guys ever considered the OnePlus phones? Top of the line for budget devices.

Phones which are still to be released won’t use Android at all so they will be completely different from looks to functionality.

Tbh if there is any way you could afford another cheapish (or expensive) phone, I would move on and also try to sell the Huawei to someone unaware. :P

I won't bend my knees for an iPhone or a samsung..... One+ and fk them all

I really wanted to get a OnePlus last October but in the end after much consideration decided there are certain iOS apps and features I use a lot which I didn’t want to give up, so went for the iPhone. In the end I did get a better phone, just the difference in quality is far from worth paying twice as much. But I felt it suited my needs better and I could afford it so I opted for comfort when it comes to something I use all the time.

Most people don’t have the same needs and uses as me though. For almost everyone else I recommend the OnePlus. In fact my mum just bought one a couple of weeks ago. She kept getting tempted to buy a Huawei or cheaper Samsung because of what her frienes told her but in the end I convinced her and good thing I did with this news. She’s very happy with it.

And to be completely honest after using it a few minutes every now and then myself to help her with something or other I’m even more convinced I won’t move unless I absolutely need to. It’s not that anything is wrong with it, but the gestures are totally different and they become so intuitive that I am completely lost about how to navigate. I feel it doesn’t even begin to compare with the iPhone when it comes to how intuitive the gestures are and the ease of navigating.

So the USA and D. Trump want to force me to move away from Huawei and I don't want to do it. :D Now I really don't know what to do in future since I've never liked to give big money for both cellphones and smartphones.
Should I return to Nokia N95 8GB as a counter-boycott towards so-called "free market"?

iPhone has always been overpriced, Samsung became also very expensive 6-7 years ago, Huawei is also becoming expensive, but not necessarily that much as the mentioned two.

I'll have to explore Xiaomi and OnePlus(never heard for it  ). Maybe one of these is my next phone. :D

OnePlus is also becoming slowly more expensive but it is way cheaper for such a great phone. Do consider it.

I think this is a dangerous move by the US government which could make other countries seek to develop European and Asian competitors and stop relying on US companies so much.

They are scared of Chinese world dominance and the new Silk Road. That's why they see threat in Huawei, too.
They should have thought about this 30-40 years ago when they closed industries in their own country and start to exploit Asians for fistful of rice. This also is worth for European developed countries.
When American babies(iPhone and Samsung) are getting surpassed by Chinese companies, then "free market" turns into an interventionism. :D Always the same old life story, only time and conditions are changing. :)

The coalition between Kurz and Strache collapsed due to taped corruption scandal in which the vice-chancellor Hans-Christian Strache found himself, therefore the Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz is looking for an early/snap election in autumn 2019.

I have no idea what happened since I'm no longer interested in politics, but this will be a big damage for ÖVP that had achieved great results in the last election cycle.

edit: Jesus Christ! It's all about setting up good and easier business terms to a Russian businesswoman and that's the only reason why Kurz feels morally obligated to look for new elections. In Croatia, the government is total generator of all corruption and injustice and all politicians and their private businesses and company work with the state, fix public tenders to favor their toys and swallow the money of tax payers.

That's the most crucial difference between Croatia and rest of the Balkan countries and Die Bundesrepublik Österreich. :) =D>

I still remember what happened to ex-president of Germany Christian Wulff and reasons of his resignation.

Well, no... The re-elections need to take place because the government is no longer stable...

And don’t you think it’s a good thing... I mean you literally described that that is what made you fed up with politics in the first place...

Yes, I do. It's a great thing to remove that poison out of your life, especially if you come from a place where I live where everything is toxic and poisoned. There is indeed life without politics no matter how silly it might sound to someone. :D

From what I heard the current devices will not be affected except that they will not get new Android builds. They will still get security patches and still have access to Google services. New phones, however, will be severely affected.

Many customers affected -
Huawei sold nearly 203 million phones last year, up from 150 million in 2017, according to data tracking firm Gartner, overtaking Apple to threaten Samsung atop the global charts.

But in cutting off Huawei, Google risks being deprived of the revenue-generating data of all those phone owners around the world.

And other Chinese smartphone makers, such as Xiaomi, Oppo and OnePlus, will be watching closely.

Should Huawei build its own system, it's conceivable that those companies might join it, in a bid to end their own vulnerability to future actions by the US government or companies.
