Not that important to me... What struck me is: Yeah, German cuisine is not world reknown... But I‘ve seen my fair share of cuisines... As with soccer, sometimes stuff is just about marketing... For example, I firmly believe that German bakery and butchery are by and large ahead of everyone else in this world (combined that is! There’s aspects that others do equally good or better, but not overall)...
Meh don't know. I came to Munich and whereabouts and was very underwhelmed by the quality of the meat. Pork everywhere and the one time I actually found beef on the menu they didn't mention the cut and the waiter didn't even know so he had to go back in and ask the chef. I'm used to opening a menu and finding different cuts of beef with a choice of country where it came from, like Argentinian, Irish etc.

Munich‘s not the place for that (if you don’t know where to go...) and also, a steak is not exactly a standard by which haute cuisine is measured
I never understand how people can mess up a steak, seriously...

Let's try this again...

Very busy to cook like this regularly, but managed to find a bit of time.

Image

Variations of seafood - poached prawns and mussels in a fragrant coriander and lemongrass broth. The broth, having been flavoured with the juices from prawns and mussels, was finished with cream, lime juice and elderflower to be served as sauce.

Garnished with Indonesian "tempeh", a soft fermented soy bean patty which I have sliced up, crispy fried and glazed with soy molasses. The prawns are sat on a bed of Moroccan couscous, embedded with minced squid.

I gotta think of something too... Anyone in here interested in a particular German dish? Or maybe: what kinds of dishes do you know, so I can think of one you don’t

No coffee or tea?-
My weekly bf is just a coffee...
Then when I arrive at work I take a yoghurt.

There is mixed-fruit juice on the glass (left) I think it's always cultural. It's either tea, milk, or fruit juice but no beer/coffee for breakfast here in Turkey especially our coffee being kinda bitter makes it no-no for breakfast. I don't feel like I'm having a breakfast when I don't eat any type of bread. We are bread and oil maniacs here in Turkey :D That's why we also have one of the highest obesity numbers in Europe (too much oil too much bread for everything). I'm on a diet to lose some kgs currently so that's also why the table don't have olive oil and jams. When I see especially the people in France eating just coffee and croissant for the breakfast I'm usually having heart attack and asking how can a man/woman feel stuffed only with that? We believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day so we put everything light to eat to the table.

Here as well, beer only because I wanted to compliment the Weisswurst.
I only have a beer while watching a game.
I love Coffee(I am having one atm)

Re France and Italy , yes that is what they take, actually Italy only an espresso!

I Don't have much time so I only take the coffee, before I used to take cereals with milk but I got fed up from it.

I really don't get the obsession with coffee. Don't like it too much and I only have it when I go out specifically for a coffee with someone or to work at a coffee shop.

I have beer as a social thing as well mostly but lately I'm getting beer often when dining out too. Apparently in moderation it has a lot of health benefits so that's good. :P
