The other way round is even more true. As in, Maltese is so easy for Arabic-speakers that you can speak to most of them in Maltese and they can understand most of what you're saying.

You can't argue with the fact that the language is dying. I think that is an alarmist opinion which admittedly several people seem to have. It won't happen.
