She is a liar, double faced and a sexist.

She is lying now saying she is pro-hunting when her history shows otherwise. To be fair I like that a candidate is against hunting. What I don't like is someone lying about their values in order to kiss a few butts.

She is in the Front Harsien ODZ and talks about the environment when she in fact built a swimming pool on ODZ land.

And then she goes out saying that it would be gender equality if she is a joint leader in the coalition. Say what? We have gender equality NOW, because nothing is stopping women from putting forward their candidature, nor is there something stopping women from voting. If she is a joint leader just because she's a woman, it means that she expects to get some extra benefit based on her gender, which makes it the opposite of gender equality.

This is in line with one of the FN's promises that women should occupy 50% of the workforce in all positions of the new Government departments. Basically, they want women to be employed over men, just because of their gender. "I'm sorry, you're the best candidate for the job, but unfortunately we need to fill in our female quota. Would you consider a sex change?" .... .... and they had the cheek to call this gender equality. It's blatantly giving women more rights than men.

Not on its accuracy but it's a bit ridiculous. As as I said earlier the crowds at Labour meetings are almost always bigger, even when they lose.

What about Malta Survey's final survey, which says FN will win by 1.2%, with a 99% confidence level? I believe they have a good track record.

Personal observation makes me predict a close (but not very close, 2-4K votes) election. It can go either way, but also based on personal observation I predict FN with quite some confidence.

I always wondered whether people from Malta consider themselves Maltese or Italian? And pardon me for assumptions, I am thoroughly uninformed.

Maltese. We have no relation to Italy other than being geographical neighbours, although the vast majority of the island speaks Italian fluently (this is being lost among younger generations). In the early 20th century when Malta was under Brirish rule there was a part of the population, some of them Italian immigrants (like my great grandfather) who were pro-Italian. Some of them founded what is still today one of the main two parties in Malta (the blue one in that picture). They wanted Italian to be our language but the English side won. Today Maltese and English are our two official languages, Italian is just a spoken one with no official status.

Similar to the language question, there are still two factions today as far as football is concerned. About 49% of the population support Italian teams, and another 49% support British teams. This forum might paint a very inaccurate picture. There may be many of us here, but we are a huge minority among football fans in Malta. People are always fascinated when they learn that we support Bayern or Germany. Thay said, German NT fans (almost each one of them a Bayern fan) are definitely the most numerous among all the minorities (Real and Barca included... But this is probably changing among children).

There are quite a number of Italians living in Malta nowadays but you can definitely tell the difference between them and the Maltese. In fact i think there's a bit of animosity towards them in general.

But the guy who asked that innocent question has a point...
Look at our surnames... I am sure that 4 out of the five active Maltese members in this forum have an italian surname...
During ww2 italians knew that they had support and until it was them attacking it was business as usual for our ppl as the areonautica were very careful as they considered us as cousins. That ended the moment the Luftwaffe took over...

We have more in common especially with Sicilians, cuisine , culture, character, some extracts of their dialect...

@12 at first I thought that it was you who asked that question
