This has always been intriguing to me. It’s a prime example of how the dominant narrative affects mass perception, because there are no factors that can affect the quality of football players on different grounds. At most, there is a certain psychological effect of a friendly/hostile crowd - but beyond that, it’s all about what we make ourselves believe.

The difference of pitch sizes and grass composition can only vary so much - and professional players experience all those specifics early on in their careers, sooner rather than later - so there is nothing particularly innovative you can do to terrain to confuse your adversaries - after all, they are all professionals that should know how to adapt to every situation instead of blindly relying on one grand recipe (hi Pep!)

25% difference is not insignificant. It is a huge gap, almost inexplicably huge. I wonder does it all boil down to mental fortitude - realizing that stadiums might belong to us or to them, but the grass belongs to the better team.

It's much more than a 25% difference, realistically.

All matches are included here, so if Germany ends up in a qualification group against Liechtenstein, they would 99%+ win both matches, which would skew data to seem like the home advantage gap is smaller than it actually is.

I intend on doing Elo ratings, processing all matches, and then extrapolate this home% win, draw% and away% win ONLY for matches where the teams had a close Elo rating (i.e. balanced matches). I'm pretty sure that the home advantage % will be higher than the ones shown here.

If it comes under threat, I'd have to make some AI bots to fake our numbers. You'd know they're bots when a lot of Gomez Maltese fans start joining the forum :)

This is wrongly worded. Of course they have the right to refuse a handshake, everyone does. I'm not going to let anyone force me to shake their hand if I don't want to.

However there can obviously be consequences for not doing so and they need to be aware of that. Although I think one ought to distinguish between politely explaining that handshakes make you uncomfortable for religious reasons and simply refusing a handshake without saying anything.

I hate shaking hands...
But only for hygiene purpose

Re the article... I am kind of in the middle,
On one hand it is the person's choice while on the other " in certain circumstances it is a polite way to greet a person...
