In Italy, a retired doctor from Brescia – Gino Fasoli – sacrificed his life to assist others after he contracted Coronavirus, which killed thousands world-wide.

Fasoli did not think twice to leave everything behind and return to work to assist doctors who couldn’t cope with patients and control the Covid-19 pandemic.

73-year old Fasoli had accepted a request by former colleagues to assist the medical staff in their work.

Unluckily, Fasoli contracted the virus and died at the San Rocco hospital, near Brescia, where he treated patients. The retired doctor was known for his dedication at work to assist others.

During his long career he carried out voluntary work in Africa, where he was also abducted in a village while treating the sick

Correlation does not imply causation. Are you saying if there was a left wing parliament the Italians would be better off? How exactly?

Ramsej is right... But Italy is left? Nu-uh?!?!

I think - as bad as it sounds - Italy and Spain have the "problem" that their folks get relatively old... And of course they were hot out of the blue and were this left high and dry... The rest at least could prepare A LITTLE and detect infections a little earlier... We'll see if it helps in the long run...

Well, Sweden is among the ghost-drivers as well, conducting a field-experiment with their people much like Johnson until very recently, as well as the Netherlands.

Our corona explainer-in-chief said today in his podcast that antibody tests should become available in a couple of weeks. That's one flicker of hope; those who are tested immune can go back to work.

What’s your take?
You think we‘ll be close to up and running again in 3 weeks?
Cause I still doubt it’s a good idea to relaunch the school year so early...

I think this will keep us busy for at least a year. I don't think we'll see schools re-opening before August/September.

Regarding the antibody tests, I think he was mostly referring to doctors, nurses and other health practitioners who could return to work. (I suppose you know the Drosten podcast, if not, see here: https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/info/podcast4684.html, transcripts are available here https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/info/Cor ... us102.html, those who can't read German can run it through a translator machine).

Yeah of course I am and I think quite highly of him, but you know as well as me he’s being very reserved and not going out on a limb - hence me asking you as a fellow countrywoman... And I kinda agree with you...
