The article said that global warming is the culprit... they lay dormant under the ice and since the latter is melting these viruses and bacteria are awaking!
Don’t believe that! We all know global warming is a myth invented by liberals to enslave poor conservatives in their wannabe utopia...!

on a different note, I read that there was a vaccine against the swine flu... I really to not rememember it as an issue over here... Prob cause the numbers were very low.. some 50...
P.S Swine flu became the seasonal flu if I am not mistaken,,,
There is a cross-immunity that was overseen with the swine flu...

Malta will not pursue emergency authorisation for COVID-19 vaccine
It will rely on final assessment by European Medicines Agency [source]

I don't know, maybe they started with people with severe respiratory problems first? Then again, what's their excuse for not wearing a visor at least?

I'm compiling police officer stats since it was made mandatory to wear a mask everywhere.

Number of policemen seen: 6 (0 policewomen)
Number of policemen seen observing mask laws: 0

I cannot understand the above... but I am fed up seeing people disobeying the rules... Last Sat I went to Pembroke (Park)
The majority of parents had their mask under the nose, some children not wearing it at all...
Then I saw an elderly (tourist) couple without it... fking unbelievable.
p.s most of the above were not Maltese : but foreigners with an attitude living here who think that they are something or above the law.

Welcome to Malta!

One can argue that having the police wear masks threaten public safety because masks can impend them physically, say if they need to chase someone. Also, if they are tested regularly as frontline workers should, then it's not as important to wear masks.

I have never seen a Maltese policeman chase anyone in my life. They’ll be like, “fuck it, we’ll make a report”.
