Hahaha well spotted.

Yeah by shortening the length of the illness (which is done by reducing viral load, of course) it would indirectly also reduce mortality, I suppose.

Virus resurging in Europe as restrictions ease: WHO

A resurgence that if left unchecked 'will push health systems to the brink'

https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/ ... who.800865

Portugal also imposed new restrictions in and around its capital on Tuesday.

(These all the champions)

In the meantime in Malta after two consecutive days without one case today we had three new cases with another three cases recovered....
All three were sporadic and not part of a cluster (very worrying)

Active cases 32.

Remdesivir has been greenlit by EMA.

In less than 2-3 weeks everything has gone to hell in Croatia.
Just in the last 24 hours 95 infected people and the record was 96 in one day in mid-April during the whole COVID period! #-o Zagreb and my county are hotspots.

Increased testing is only making things worse and they have decreased it after they removed all measures due to elections and political campaign.

What a joke of all ex-YU countries in less than 2 weeks!   Just open borders between counties and states, start moving around, start traveling, start living as if nothing has ever happened and one month later bye-bye.

My Osijek-Baranja county is a catastrophe because in a nun monastery in Đakovo the whole explosion has started in the last 5-6 days and that owner of a nightclub and café in my city downtown.
Daily 300 people visit the place and 4 nuns went to Kosovo in the last 10-15 days and infected the other women. :)

Of 40 cases today, just 2 are from my city, 38 from Đakovo where the monastery is located.

Intravenous version. The inhaler version is still in development.

Stumbled across this today: C. Drosten interviewed about Corona conspiracy theories (in English)

EU countries remain split on reopening borders

US to be excluded from travel list, with a finalised list expected Saturday

Europe should not open the borders for other continents.

*Israel to be counted as a non European country (as should always be anyways)

Jeez, there are countries who want American tourists....

The opening of borders is just crazy if not criminal.

One million new cases were recorded in only six days, according to the AFP count, just as countries start to unwind punishing lockdowns that have devastated their economies and thrown millions out of work.

Govts should urge ppl to take holidays in own country....

In large cases I am sure that many have spots in their own country which they haven't visited or heard about yet.

Obviously it is not the case with us Maltese members in here

Let's start a mini survey here.
Everyone mentions at least one or two places which he has never been to

The problem with Malta isn’t that there aren’t places we haven’t been to - one could happily holiday somewhere they haven’t been in a while - but that you are never more than 30 minutes away from your house.

Occasionally I do a “tourist day”, where I spend a day exactly as I do abroad: eating out, visiting museums, lots of different places in one day, many photos... It is impossible to recreate the holiday feeling locally though because in the end it is always just a day out and by the evening I’m back home.

Spending a couple of days in a hotel doesn’t really work either because it works the other way round. The moment you step outside you’re somewhere you’re in every other day anyway. I did it last year as a family thing and detested it. I was very close to going out in the middle of the night and driving home to sleep in my bed... and I NEVER get homesick.
