650 infected now at Tönnies' meat factory. 7000 people quarantined.

Look, I get the general feeling, I‘m pretty mad about unregulated reopening of schools that will soon occur myself, but realistically, we also need to open to keep our health insurance running and our system working... Don’t you agree?

Flare ups are going to happen now things are opening up (and this makes me sound like a Tory) but they must. The young need to be educated and have chance of starting a career as it is them that economic catastrophes affect the most

The important thing is that precautions are followed, and that the most vulnerable are protected, which Germany seems to have done a good job of doing if the low death numbers are anything to go by

Does everyone on this forum believe that this covid is really as dangerous as they are saying it is?

Depends what you mean by dangerous. I'm not afraid of being infected, but I worry about its contagiousness. 1) Anyone could infect a more vulnerable person and 2) Things won't ever be back to normal if the number of cases don't get pushed down, regardless of how harmful or harmless the symptomatic disease is.

The Govt can help by giving some aid and by workers give a small percentage of the wage

UK gov are paying 80% of wages (down to 60 in July) for companies that apply. These people are currently not working. This can't go on forever though as it isn't sustainable or affordable for a long period. Once the aid stops in October the redundancies will begin...

Temporary " sacking " most can work from home...
The only ones who can't are the ones in the catering ind. Then they can be re-employed when it is allover

It's impossible that they'll be re-employed when it's "all over".

Why not. They will suffer as they will stop receiving the wage or part of it.
I suffered a bit not that much... I work 1.5 hrs over time daily and another four every Sat ... so I missed those extra money for two months. Not to mention the commission from sales and all my time off as it was used to cover for the time away from work (luckily I had accumulated cause I don't use it much)
