I hope that he didn't blow up the important initial recovery period. I don't know how they were playing down a hernia operation as if going in to remove a wart. As I know it, after such an op you can start light activity only after 1 to 2 weeks and this includes even just lifting a bag and going down/up steps. Strenuous exercise can be carried out from 4 weeks of recovery. But I am not HWMW !

From what I remember he was meant to have surgery in early December because they didn't expect him to be out for longer than a week. After all they called it a minor operation

But this last piece of news really scare me. Because usually what follows is 'Lewy plans to start team training next week'

Then all of a sudden it is unclear if he will be fit for the first BL match of the year. Then the injury was worse than expected. Then there is a setback....

In other words, nothing that we haven't seen yet :?

So:
- Muller as striker, Coutinho centre? I don't like this at all.
- Gnabry striker, Muller/Coutinho on the wing? I like the idea of Gnabry playing centrally but will disrupt our momentum, probably.
- Give Zirkzee a chance? Not totally against this tbh, maybe he can impress like Davies.

Our options are severely limited with Perisic out. If Coman's injury is worse than expected we are in trouble.

If we're lucky he'll only miss 3 league games.
---------------Lewandowski
------------Sané - Müller - Gnabry
------------Goretzka - Kimmich
Davies - Hernández - Upamecano - Süle
--------------------Neuer

Thing is it's very hard to trust our estimated return dates these days. Just one week more and he misses Dortmund. As it stands he will already miss the Pokal game vs Schalke and the Bundesliga game vs Frankfurt, not to mention the second leg vs Chelsea (thankfully shouldn't be a problem in that one). Not sure when the first leg of the CL QF is.

Considering Lewandowski I wouldn't be surprised if he's back earlier than expected.
