He's on the bench so he must be fit.

Haven't heard much lately but had to check as I suspected he'd be called upon soon with Lukas, Sule, etc hurt....but per Transfermarkt, he has been out since 9 Oct with knee issues. He missed the game vs Zwickau on 20 Oct AFAIK. Anyone have any further update?

I was thinking the same thing. Where's Hummels when you need him Kovac (you douche).
Stay well brothers and sisters in this time of world peril.

Wait, so we have 4 fit defensive players in the squad now? Neuer will soon get a shot in defence.

Is this the right time to mention that

a) I said this would happen with Hernandez (missing A LOT of games)

b) I wanted another defender?

Yeah, so I double checked and the last game he played was 6 October vs Braunschweig. Has been out since then...I can't find any more information though, haven't seen any team announcement or anything. Transfermarkt just gives a "return unknown."

So...sure seems like Lucas is going to be out for a while. Sule's season is over. Javi...who knows. Unfortunately, have to kinda assume the worst with him, ha. And as said, Mai's hurt.
So....at the moment Pavard and Boateng are our only fit first-team CBs. (and we all know Boateng is not exactly durable anymore) Lucas out probably makes Phonzie the backup LB now, behind Alaba of course. Pavard is ostensibly still the backup RB I guess.

All that to say, if Javi's out for any extended period of time, we'll have to call up someone (Richards, I guess?)...

In all likelihood we'll still be starting Alaba-Boateng-Pavard-Kimmich. Which isn't a bad back four on its own, tbh. But that means we have literally zero backup defenders save for Phonzie (who, let's be honest, is really only halfway an LB, haha).

So, I guess we'll probably have to start getting Richards some minutes, other than that? Kohn looked decent in limited action, I guess, but man things are looking a bit grim.

On the plus side, probably ends the Kimmich in midfield experiment for the foreseeable future.

I mean honestly Richards has looked more promising than Mai from what I’ve seen

I think we’ll loan someone or find a free agent which is the right thing to do because we can’t rely on just Richards.
