I was already wondering if Boa (and Hummels) would fly with the team. Considering both are still in the States, and might like a long chat with Carlo before the season starts.

Article says they're taking it VERY slow, but he's confident he'll play again in September.
The way I read it, the 'longer' bit is about how he was supposed to play against Bremen already, and after that was supposed to be ready for the Schalke game, but he's still not in team training. So the headline is a bit misleading as no one gave Bremen or Schalke as a definite date for his return.
He was HOPING to be back for the beginning of the season, but that has never been made official as a return date.
