Funny i didn't see Pep get upset that Schmelzer got in the way of Javi and caused him to kick him.

"I’ve been looking forward since weeks to the new season, I was ready as never before. But this is the profession I have chosen. You never know when and suddenly you go from the very top all the way down. It doesn’t matter how long I will be absent, I will follow every game and become the biggest fan of Bayern. If I get the opportunity I’d like to celebrate our team together with the fans in the Südkurve. Dear Bayern fans, thank you for all the well wishes, I will come back stronger and fight with you for our club."

Well said. At least he can now learn some German more intensively.

If such words are true, I can see him retiring here. I for one would love it

Lol why would anyone be angry at Schmelzer for standing there? Javi overextended. It was an accident. I was surprised this injury turned out worse because it didn't look anything bad while watching it. Maybe whe he fall on his back but didn't expect an ACL.

This injury is irritating beyond belief. We've been completely reliant on Martinez in our important fixtures since his arrival and I'm genuinely afraid about facing those games without him. He kept us in the game by himself in the CL final, he was monstorous in bullying the Barcelona midfield, he pulled our asses out of the fire against Chelski in the Super Cup and he was on fire against Dortmund in the Pokal last season. Basically, our triumphs have been centered around him more than any other player (Robben and maybe Müller come close though).

So yeah. Real shit news right here.

Under Heynckes as DM he was massive, yes...but as CB we haven't been reliant on him even a tiny bit. Let's not exaggerate his importance here. Just because he was of huge importance in our CL winning season as a DM doesn't mean that it automatically translated into the same thing last season. He really wasn't at all. I don't wish him any illness, but he's a pretty horrific centre back.

any news about this forgotten champion? When is he exactly expected back? - Feb should be a plausible forecast right?
