That's the only factor you need. Everything else is secondary.
We have a medical team that always under delivers and it's run by an arrogant know it all, set in his ways.
Typical of this club that refuses to even consider anything other than status quo.

Anyway, losing Alaba is no disaster. He wasn't playing at a level higher than Rafinha of late.

The sample size is small.

Or would you say that flipping a coin and getting heads three times in a row "can't be luck?"

That's not statistically correct.

First off, a fair coin gives a 50% chance.

Nope, that is correct.
There is 1/8 chance of landing 3 heads in a row. So, ending up with a 3 head sequence is purely chance or 'luck'

It's not an appropriate analogy though for this discussion.
I agree there are more factors at play when it comes to Bayern's record with injuries than mere
random variables.

You misunderstood my first point. A fair coin gives a 50% chance of heads in a single throw.
With 3 throws, that's (0.5)^3 = 1/8. My point wasn't that however. It's that just because there are only 2 options (injuries or not injuries) doesn't mean that there's a 50% chance of one happening.

Young Sheldon Cooper said it best... "You've confused possibilities with probabilities. According to your analogy, when I go home, I might find a million dollars on my bed or I might not. In what universe is that 50/50?"

I think if we were to analyze the data, we'd find that in top clashes between top teams, less than 50% of the teams had key players out injured.

I understood you and that's what i said. landing 3 heads in a row is statistically 'lucky' but does not apply to this discussion as you point out.

I would still like to know why didn’t Madrid play this weekend.

Because the spanish FA actually cares about how well their teams do in europe.
While in germany you have teams like Freiburg have one day between their EL and Bundesliga matches

It’s rubbed off on some fans quite obviously...

Take the Monday game: introduced to relieve EC participants of stress... Result: Leipzig played on Monday before playing Marseille on Thursday...

They know the knowledge, as we often say in Croatia. Germans don't care just as they don't care about the sinking ship called Bundesliga where top stars are leaving for England and Spain, PSG, Juventus, Inter and Milan... But okay, they'll think more about it if Ligue 1 becomes better than the Bundesliga in future and perhaps lose one CL spot. :D

On topic: too bad that Alaba won't be on our disposal. :?
