Four CBs should be good for a 7 match tournament but let’s see what happens.

Funnily enough, goalimpact (imo the best possible method to evaluate players statistically) has consistently shown Müller as one of the best players in the world, even the best for a long stretch of time. It doesn't matter what is that he does on the field, it's undeniable that it produces more goals for his teams.Ed. wrote:America USA wrote:Apart from his second half header he misplaced the ball too many times. Pep, Ancelotti and now Jupp are all expected to fix Muller's basics like his awful first touch?
I'm not sure if we can post video links here, but have a look at these highlights at the 4:50 mark.
Cross field ball, no pressure on him and look at the end result which is a hopeful punt into the box.
It's time to get past the original hype (from 6 yrs ago ) and accept Mueller for what he is. A very good top level professional with an uncanny ability of taking up good positions and finding space and an eye for goal. That is all. He never was and never will be a player who makes a difference on his own. For someone whose first touch is so poor, loses the ball often, can never win a physical contest, his abilities need supporting players to thrive.
All his supporters have is excuses, Oh striker isn't his best position, no he isn't meant for the wings or he needs a more verstaile partner when paired in attach. I'll tell you what his best position is, it's the bench.
In my opinion, Mueller does not get into either the Bayern or NT best XI. He is a fantastic option to bring on from the bench when the game is being chased, that's about it.
