Don’t understand why Löw doesn’t consult with players before calling them up. Now Germany will be playing with a depleted squad. Can and Gnabry should’ve been in the original squad.

Under the drastically changed circumstances I’d like to see this 442 lineup:

This lineup keeps the Bayern guys at a minimum (especially the Out of form ones like Boateng, Muller and possibly Neuer) and also Sane on the Right because he’s left footed (IIRC) and Brandt is right footed. Inverted wingers who can cut inside on their stronger foot and have a go at the opponents’ goal.

But they do not play for their clubs like that. Brandt has shown more versatility and adaptability but with Sane's history of under performing for Germany I doubt he will produce anything cutting inside from the right.

Werner is not a No.9 and he is more effective breaking on the wing or popping up on the center by surprise as a second striker. That is how he plays for Leipzig. I will put Werner and Sane on the wings to play Brandt or Gnabry on the center of attack. That is in a front 3 formation.

Another option is Sane and Werner on the wings, Gnabry as a lone striker and Brandt as No.10 with a double pivot on the base of midfield (Kroos + Rudy or Can)
