Gundogan was a total waste of space. He did nothing but pass the ball sideways and backwards. His longest pass was a back-pass to Zieler. He actually tried one forward pass around midfield, right before he came off, and it was off target and intercepted by the US. He barely ran at all. He jogged a little bit, but mostly he just stood there. He hadn't played for the National Team in like 14 months, and he played like he couldn't care less.

Seriously, if you hadn't noticed, watch the match again and ask yourself who COULDN'T have done what he did. Any 3rd tier player could've done what he did...Maybe even the 3rd Tier in Malta

At this rate(due to all these emberessing defeats in friendlies) by the start of the euros Germany wont be ranked#1 anymore!!!

Let's just hope the way Germany plays in friendlies is not indicative of how they perform when it matters in tournaments. I know it was experimental but not very hopeful of the backline when Hummels and Boateng retire at the moment.
