Sorry, had to comment on this... what is a difficult ankle?!?!
Great game by Gomez, an excellent goal that will help him dethrone Klose, which I think he deserves now considering he scored 6 goals in his last 4 FULL matches for Germany (I'm not making these stats up). He was unlucky not to score more as well. He looked good on the dribble, fast both with and without the ball at his feet, and showed a poacher's instinct.
PS: I know you meant "angle"

P.S. Indeed I meant angle, but I was too sleepy in that time

Agree about club, but country? Depending on a friendly against United Arab Emirates ?

Even if you take that out (it's unfair) you're still left with 2 goals in 3 full matches or 0.67 goals per game, which is higher than the average strike rate of 0.55 goals per game for Klose in the NT (and this is including all the matches he played against Liechtenstein, San Marino, Kazhakstan, Azerbaijan, U.A.E., Saudi Arabia etc)
AvatarX wrote:If you are going to compare all the matches with NT, then Gomez has 0.36 goals per game (16 goals in 44 matches).
AvatarX wrote:Anyway, no point in debating, Gomez had a good game but he will probably be second choice until Euro. Hopefully (for the shake of the NT), Gomez will perform good in official matches when needed.
MUTU wrote:Klose has a chance to break Gerd Mueller's record, but Gomez would then have a chance of breaking Klose's record. Gomez is 9455 days old and has 16 goals for the national team. When Klose was 9455 days old he also had 16 goals for the national team, so they're head-to-head at the moment.

BTW Muller is 7929 days old and has 7 goals. So, he has 1526 days (more than 4 years) ahead of him to break that record. And he isn't even the main striker.
