I would like to see the following:

Goals? I'd be happy with a goalless draw - less embarrassing than what happened yesterday

Or

Mesut, Sami and Thomas simply cannot start after that gutless display against Mexico. Boateng should be dropped for tactical reasons and IMO Löw has to select a team on merit as opposed to reputation and merit demands that Ter Stegen should start in goal.

Erm, no...

You’re the only one here who claims that for some kind of weird perception... "Because Neuer couldn’t save a ball no one in the world except prime Neuer could, we have to play ter Stegen" - that's like going by car cause an ordinary plane is slower than a spaceship...

Neuer is untouchable. Even if he were out for 2 years he's better than Ter Stegen who has rarely not sucked for the NT.

Agree about Neuer. Even a wounded Superman is stronger than a healthy Batman (LOL)

Hector should be fit for this match, according to Bierhoff.

Goretzka and Sule and Gomez are a must in this match...

Draxler, Ozil and Khedira are the big no no

Werner can be used as RW , Reus as the LW Mueller behind Gomez....

I don’t blame Neuer for the defeat but Ter Stegen is not a bad back at all and did well throughout the qualifying, Confederations Cup and the game against Spain. I (and many non Germans) don’t understand Ter Stegen’s mistreatment. If Neuer had been playing since March then this wouldn’t even be a topic of debate for me. However, I believe Ter Stegen should be given a chance.

If Neuer has to play then I would feel bad for Ter Stegen but it wouldn’t be the end of the game. It’s Khedira, Ozil, Thomas and Boateng who must not start under any circumstances.

That has to be the lineup. In Süle and Rudiger, there would be two fast Central defenders. Three man defense would mean more safety on counters. Kimmich and Hector can provide width. However, I don’t know if crosses into the box will work against Sweden who’ll pack the box with big defenders.

Gomez has to play because Sweden will park the bus and there won’t be much space for Timo to exploit. Gomez can hold up play and would be a better choice to compete with the tall and strong Swedish defenders.

Reus and Brandt can provide the dynamism and in Goretzka we have a goal scoring threat from midfield. If the passes are quicker then Kroos can control the tempo and have a good game too.

The knockout stages have started very early for Germany and it’s make or break time. I hope we see some much needed changes and a German victory!

IMO the only way Ruediger will get game time, excluding suspensions and injuries, is if Germany lose in the semi-finals and would play for the 3rd place.
