I wonder, if Germany moved Müller to the center and partnered him with Werner and played any other attacking midfielder instead of Özil, whether that would be a more efficient use of the talent Germany has. 6 years ago I was a fan of Özil, but these days he’s an typical Arsenal player, Germany has so many good young upcoming attackers to use instead, and Müller’s a bit wasted out wide. He partners Lewy well so I’d like to see how he combines with Werner.

Ready for Özil to provide some killer assist to destroy my comment

That was Mueller's best ever goal, IMO

Take Khedira off asap! He is slow as fuck! Gundogan comes on. Boateng and Kimmich are playing as if they are drunk. Germans need to bring Kroos-Ozil duo more on the ball if they are to score against this Spanish defense. Ramos-Pique are a top clas CB pairing, don’t know how they do it with all their political differences and footballing rivalry in La Liga.

Concerning that Spanish dribblers (Isco and Iniesta) are having their way with Germany’s defense. I know this is just a friendly but Germany need a much improved second half display against a direct World Cup rival.

Germany vs. Spain: two world class teams, two incredible offenses, 0 "true" wingers.

I believe that Löw needs to find a way to somehow get him more involved into the starting 11 so that he develops an understanding with the likes of Ozil, Kroos, Hector, Werner and Thomas. He is lacking the rhythm with the NT that he has with Man City.

As for the match, much improved second half performance but the players should’ve been more clinical with their chances. Werner outrunning Spanish Fullbacks was a big positive. Khedira’s injury was sad but Gundogan is a better choice in midfield. Shortly after Gundogan and Sane came on, Germany pinned Spain back into their own half and that is not something you often say about Spain.

Positives:
- Werner’s pace
- Kroos-Gundogan-Ozil controlling the game
- After Spain scored Boateng-Hummels looked much better
- Ter Stegen is a very decent backup for Neuer
- Thiago is fine and hopefully it stays that way
- Looks like Muller has got his mojo back!

Negatives:
- Spanish dribblers easing past German defenders
- Kimmich looked lost in the first half but got better in the second half
- Germany trying to play out from the back way too much
- Khedira getting hurt, hopefully it is nothing serious.

Good game to watch and I stand by my assessment. Spain are the strongest possible opponent for Germany in the WC, followed by Brazil, France and Argentina.

What I am concerned is: this is the last chance new people could get a chance to test their strength at the NT, while obviously Low had no intention to test new players. I have a feeling Germany is not too fond of the 2018 world cup.

I think Low made the right choice playing his best players against Spain. I think we will see a totally different starting eleven against Brazil.

Well, I‘m pro wingplay, but let’s strike that for a moment...
I don’t get why you guys take NT soccer as a benchmark... We all generally agree that it is INSANELY inferior to club soccer, don’t we?!
