Goretzka and Draxler have nothing to do in a starting lineup - and this coming from an Özil-critic...

No, he's 100% right. Khedira has been much better than Goretzka for the NT recently and Draxler's appropriate position is left-bench because, unlike him, Reus, Ozil, and Brandt all actually create chances when they play for the NT.

No I'm just able to evaluate players objectively based on actual quality... The mere fact you’re accusing me of this bullshit only shows YOU are not objective...
But I guess I must’ve missed the 50something CL matches Goretzka has played in his career...
Goretzka is a talented player but for the love of god he’s not 18... People should stop acting like he was the next Messi...

And last I checked Draxler was - thank god - not a Bayern player...

I would start Rudy over Khedira all the time and Goretzka next to him as well

Your attempts are more than pathetic... For a guy who claims to be intelligent, your display of reading comprehension skills in this thread is putting shame to the American educational system... Of course it could also be a bad attempt at trolling...

Which one is it gonna be?

For a more sophisticated approach: which player transfers did I criticize?

Costa? Heavily... Mea culpa, we all saw him shooting the lights out against RM... One of our most reliable players!

Rudy? Had a great season... My personal highlight were his games against... Ooooh can’t remember any...

Not getting a winger for ages?
Oh yeah you got me on this one! How dare I... We all know Ribéry is still more than enough for a CL final, while Robben was collecting his limbs on Säbener street training field #2...
And how dare I say Gnabry is not enough? A player that - age and contribution this far aside - is also injured as of now and very injury prone... I MUST be a Bayern-hater!

Some people...

@mods: if this is too OT, please move to the transfer thread, I want everyone to see how much my judgement is skewed and how much I hate Bayern!

Agree with #12 here. Khedira's experience would help with Lahm and Schweinsteiger gone.

I expect Goretzka to play a big role in this tournament after the Confederations Cup but probably he's not going to be a starter, at least in the beginning

I believe that this the breakthrought tournament for Goretzka and Werner. If I was Jogi I'd push for them two, they have bright future ahead of them and this is a tournament that Germany doesn't have any burden on their shoulders since they won the last one and did a very good run on the EURO16. Players such as Khedira or Ozil are finished to me and shouldn't cut playing time from Leon unless the latter plays really really bad.

Mexico is a good start for Leon & TImo, they have the momentum because of the Confed and they are clearly an inferior team. I'd put my money on Marco as well, he is like a new player if he is fit and at his best then he lead the offense, his quality is huge as well as his vision. The backline is many years together, there should not be a problem but midfield-offense is another thing. I hope that Leon starts, Reus and Werner scores and hopefully Mexico puts some pressure on Neuer to make a couple of wonder saves to boost him up. That would the perfect scenario.

^ This. While I agree that Khedira has done good lately and has had a decent season, Özil is the one who bothers me. That guy has had an injury plagued season, and is once again coming back from a few problems. Also, when the Germans have to defend he is a massive liability while defending. He did not even have a great season with Arsenal! Only reason Özil is still with the National Mannschaft is because of Löw’s favoritism.

Shitting on young upcoming talented players who have just begun their careers with the NT is totally unfair on said players.

IMO, Löw should be smart enough to not always play the standard 4231 so as to make the team stale and predictable. A back three would be the best way forward against a team like Mexico.

Erm... This is a Bayern-forum, isn’t it? Highly likely Mexicans are here... And even other fans might be way less attached to a NT than to Bayern... Where’s the treason?
