The first goal was Badstuber 80% Hummels 20% fault IMO

Neuer didn't have any chance. Hummels at least tried to get the ball from Cassano but Badstuber didn't do anything to prevent Balotelli from scoring. Badstuber is horrible with his head #-o

Things that went wrong in this tournament IMO

- Playing Lahm as LB with no real RB
- Schweini out of form
- Lack of winning DNA. Now that belongs to Spain
- Podolski
- Löw game plan against Italy

I wanted to see the team that played in the qualifiers for this Euro. That team was awesome, fast, dynamic and effective. It was like the mature German NT version of the world cup.

This. Unfortunately our team didn't impress me at all during Euro. We did win all games, but with a close scoreline and without providing convincing displays...

NO MORE 4-2-3-1 and PLEASE FIND ANOTHER FULLBACK

4-2-3-1 is now easily stopped , besides GERMANY HAS NO REAL WINGERS , and no CROSSERS "well , Jerome Boateng is Germanys number 1 Crosser , which is a JOKE"

Switch to 4-3-2-1 (Christmas tree) or 4-3-1-2

I don't know 4-4-2s are a thing of the past, they're very easily beaten, just look at England.

I've never seen Germany/Bayern win an international title (Hell, not even the UEFA Cup in 2008!) and it's getting much more painful with every passing tournament.

Hmh, same here. Though it has to be said, the realistic ambitions of actually winning things started in 06. 02 was just Kahn dragging the NT kicking and screaming to the final whether they wanted it or not.

Germany disappointed once again, specially Löw who made bad decision and first 11. I think it's time to find a new national coach after Löw's 8 years at NT(6 as a coach).

They really looked scared against Italy, haven't played like against Greece and Holland and that's bad. Cassano should have been fouled from Boateng and Hummels side, but they left Cassano easily to pass for Balotelli header, unacceptable.

From my point of view, this German generation is lost, or should I say just bronzed and nothing else. Same story has happened as it was in 2006 and 2010. Everything good, but Italy and Spain were that stumbling-block.

Too bad for Germany and nothing from gold on WC 2014, it's pretty obvious what's gonna happen there.

The game from last night once again recalled me how my country played great this Euro and every Croat can be very proud that our country showed how can squad which is weaker than France, Holland, Portugal, Germany can play well against Euro finalists. =D> Little luck and justice missed to knock-out the Spain in the group stage.

Agree. What a difference would have been the existence of a player like this with today's quality...

BTW I just can't understand what really happened and with the same line-up in defense / DM / CM we became from greatly defending team (vs Portugal or Holland) to that playground - laughable defense we saw yesterday. Even against Greece we conceded in the first real counter attack.

I think Neuer will grow into that kind of player. Too bad the rest are a bunch of pussies.

I thought we were going to play like this when I saw the lineup yesterday, with Podolski as striker. The 4-3-2-1 also fits Germany a lot.

It is inevitable to discuss Germany without mentioning Bayern on a Bayern forum when there are so many Bayern players, but for Bayern the 4-2-3-1 should remain the main formation (but not untouchable and it should change in some games, or during the game itself).

Well, Bayern has Robbery, something that is missing from Germany. On the other hand, Germany has a lot of top AM players wasted on the wings.

BUT I have to disagree on Kroos. IMHO he has no place in the NT and brings into NT the one thing that I hate about Bayern: stalling the ball and destroy counter attacks.

What I would like to see is sometime in the future is a variation of 4-3-3:

---------------------------Neuer---------------------------
Lahm-----------Hummels---------Badstuber-----Schmelzer
------------------------Khedira---------------------------
------------Goetze----------------Schweinsteiger-----
------------------------------------------------------------
-------------Muller---------Reus-----------Oezil---------

With Muller/Reus/Oezil swapping positions. It's a kind of strikerless formation that can be used if the lone striker is not working (and can bring the counter attacking football to another level).

Don't you all think than Manuel Neuer has more balls than the rest of the german team put together.
For the next qualifying campaign, the 2014 world cup, Neuer must be captain.
Germany needs a captain like Kahn or Ballack - a captain who has balls.
