Italy ...

Agreed. Germany winning against England is pretty much standard (though still fun). Italy is the dark horse.

They're both annoying when they win against Germany... Even if only a friendly.

If their manager had brains and use the Tottenham crew... maybe he will cause there aren't Gerrard and Lampard.

On paper they have a very strong squad, coached correctly and they could be a scary team to play

Don't fall for the hype. These guys play in a league where, with all due respect to them, Leicester are five points clear at the top remember

You should know my feelings on English football by now  I respect our cricket team does that count?

From that squad I rate Alli and Kane. The rest are bang average. I love the Jamie Vardy story especially as a Yorkshireman, from Stocksbridge to Halifax to what he has now, but he's not that great. Just benefiting massively from the poor quality of the league

I know I was being sarcastic
But you should not under estimate the fact that this yr it will be the 50th anniv of England's only major triumph.

So? After 50 years of misery, deluded expectations and each crash out of a competition more spectacular than the last one, they are going to become world class monsters all of a sudden? :) Or are they going to introduce some Soviet linesmen for their games once again? :D

Hmm if you're trying to build a case for them, that's probably not the best stat to roll out!

Kimmich is in the roster for the 2017 U-21 EURO Championship next year in Poland. My understanding is that Löw will not call U21 players unless that Horst Hrubesch release them permanently for the senior side. This was one of the ideas implemented when the new NT program was rolled out after the 2004 debacle, to maintain the youth players together throughout their development and not rush them into the senior side.

Löw occasionally brings some U players to the senior side to give them a taste of their future (e.g. Sané) but only when strategically makes sense. It looks like with EURO 2016 so close this is not the right time for Kimmich since most likely he will be relegated to the bench or the 5 reserve players that will be dropped from the 27 men roster.
