Basti was never going to let that cup slip away. Never.

Schweinsteiger will now be spoken of with the same reverence as Beckenbauer.

SCHWEINSTEIGER, but I'd feel bad not to mention LAHM :) nothing else to say. GERMANY, well done! :)

This is why I've always been puzzled whenever anyone says it's time for Bayern to move beyond Schweini. He's a true leader and warrior. Never gives up, and pushes the team forward whenever it underperforms. Also, brilliant games from Lahm and Boa. Especially happy about Boa, hope he gets more consistent now. And that Götze goal... CLASS. Hope he too finds his form in a permanent basis. Golden Ball should have been for Lahm, a truly once in a lifetime player.

I was so very happy to see Lahm and Schweinsteiger lift the trophy, a fitting achievement to outstanding careers! A couple more champions league titles under their belts would not look bad either.

Congratulations Guys!!! All German fans must be proud and hold their heads high, after sadness for the last 12 years...

I'm curious to see how many fouls did Bastian suffer, because by the end it's nearly like they targeted to injure him!

I've been around longer than most, if not all, of you guys here. I was in Munich when Germany won the WC in 1974 and nearly named my son Juergen after Germany won again in 1990. I'm more proud of this 2014 team than both of those champions, mainly because it was something I thought Bastian, Lahm, Poldi and Klose deserved for their dedication and hard work over the past three world cups, but also because of how this team prevailed in the most difficult of circumstances, becoming the first European NT to ever win a World Cup in the Americas.

Congratulations to Die Mannschaft, I've never been so proud to be a German-American!! =D> =D> =D>

Against a parked bus, you need to find a small opening and control the ball perfectly. Germany failed to do it for 110 minutes, until Mario Götze handled the task with finesse in the World Cup final.

What a finish for Götze.

So happy for Klose. Finally a winners medal to prove he's the greatest World Cup scorer ever.

Where are the Löw haters now?

I agree all The Löw haters including myself have to turn it down a bit now !

You know fellas, there's something kinda satisfying for me, on a really deep, emotional level, to see Germany win the World Cup...

I mean I wouldn't be offended in the slightest if anyone gave me crap for an Egyptian, living in Australia, cheering for Germany to win and calling Die Mannschaft "us" and "we" each time they played (heck, even I find it a little weird ), but it just feels right for some reason...

After all, it was seeing Germany play in the 1994 World Cup that drew me to them and eventually, to my footballing love, that is FC Bayern München...

Or maybe it just had something to do with the fact that Germany was basically Bayern :D

Either way, I just wanted to share this with you all...congratulations on the win everyone and here's hoping we see Neuer, Lahm, Boateng, Schweini, Muller and Götze lift many, many more trophies!

Spoiler: show
P.S. I haven't forgotten about Kroos - he's still in my bad books...for now at least

After 14km of running, after got beaten many times, he finds the courage to STAND UP AND FIGHT. I can say that the moment he stood up and got in again I had a flashback of the past. THIS IS WHAT WAS MISSING! That fighting spirit and courage IMO change the course of the game and only moments afterwards, we scored.

That's what a legend should do! That's what a leader should do! Thank you Schweini ! Thank you all!

OK, now wipe your tears you big baby

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but for the next 5 months or so, both Bayern and Germany are World Champions!
